A ROUND UP OFF ALL THAT’S TASTY IN ANNAPOLIS AND ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY
Grapes Wine Bar welcomes Carro Oldham, formerly of Tastings Gourmet Market, as head chef at the popular wine bar and small plates restaurant in the Clocktower Plaza in Annapolis. Oldham comes to Annapolis from Paris, where she worked in Michelin starred restaurants and owned her own catering firm. Oldham’s focus will be to use her background in nouveau French bistro cuisine to revamp and re-energe Grape’s small plates menu. Already she as brought new dishes like Beef Cheeks Parmentiere, Duck Confit Ravioli with a Sage Cream Sauce and authentic Parisian style roasted chicken. She will offer a fish special each week. Visit the Grapes website for updated listings.
Blackwall Hitch has introduced a new small plates menu from 3pm-7pm Monday-Friday. Dishes like braised short rib tacos, pan seared scallops and seared tuna flatbreads will be $6 each.
Find of the week! I found a wonderful snack-in-lieu-of-dinner while at a Ballet Theater of Maryland performance at Maryland Hall. Hebe Cafe offers a container filled to the brim with fresh carrots, celery, a container each of yogurt and hummus, a brownie bite and 2 small quiches. I think hits all the food groups and was just $6. I love that place–it’s a hidden gem!
Annapolis restaurant week kicked off February 23rd and lasts only until this coming Sunday, March 1st. Visit their website to find a list of participating restaurants with links to menus and hours. More than 40 local eateries are excited to showcase their talents and specials this week, and there are few better opportunities to eat local at a great price than this week!
